Diamond - Uptake

After the Instillation of nanodiamond suspensions (about 4 and about 50 nm) in the lungs of mice, up to a trial period of 28 days, no harmful effects were observed.

There are no known studies that deal with the uptake of diamond nanoparticles through the skin.

There are no known studies that deal with the uptake of diamond nanoparticles via the intestine.

There have been few studies regarding the uptake and risk of environmental organisms. Here, the occurrence of toxic effects was strongly dependent on the type of surface modifications of the nanodiamond. There is currently no study dealing with long-term effects of diamond nanoparticles.
