Simplynano.ch Website
Beginning of May 2019, the new website of the SimplyNano project www.simplynano.ch  went online. The project offers interested teachers and partners a contact point for information and questions about SimplyNano, the experimental kits and related documents. The SimplyNano project was launched in 2012 by the SimplyScience Foundation and the Innovation Society with the creation and production of the first experimental case SimplyNano 1. Due to the great success and the positive feedback, the SimplyNano 2 was developed. It has been used in schools since 2017. The canton of Aargau...

New DaNa article on risk assessment of nanomaterials
To estimate the potential hazard of nanomaterials a risk assessment is needed. How to determine the concentration of nanoparticles, which are difficult to detect? Why is modelling the method of choice and how does it work? The new article about “Estimating the occurrence of nanomaterials in the environment” gives you an overview about exposure modelling.
Contactpointnano.ch Workshop 2019
On May 17th 2019, contactpointnano is organizing a workshop on working with novel nanomaterials in an industrial setting in Geneva, Switzerland. The workshop is mainly targeting Start-ups, SMEs and established companies that are already working with novel nanomaterials or are planning to integrate nanotech into their production lines. Deadline for registration is 10 May 2019. Switzerland occupies a leading position internationally in the field of nanoresearch. However, when it comes to transposing existing knowledge into practice and fully exploiting the application potential of...

New DaNa article on pollinating insects
Pollen of contaminated plants or water droplets can be carriers for nanomaterials. Bees and bumblebees are potentially exposed to those nanoparticles, caused e.g. by the increased usage of nanofertilizer and nanopesticides. Do nanomaterials pose a threat to pollinators? Might they be one of the reasons of the insect species extinction? What studies have been published to this topic?   The recently published DaNa-article "Nanomaterials and pollinating insects?” will enlighten this topic and can be found in our Cross-Cutting section.
