The IEP is the <span class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;pH&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Latin, short for &amp;lt;em&amp;gt;pondus\/potentia hydrogenii&amp;lt;\/em&amp;gt; - weight\/power of hydrogen. Dimensionless measure of the acidic or alkaline (basic) reaction of an aqueous solution. The pH of a nanoparticle suspension affects the behaviour of particles in the solution (agglomeration, solubility, suspensibility).&lt;\/div&gt;\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>pH<\/span> of an aqueous <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Suspension&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Solid particles suspended in a liquid, i.e. a more or less thick sludge or slurry. Normally, the solid particles deposit on the bottom if one allows the suspension to rest for a while in the vessel.&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'>suspension<\/span>, where the positive and negative charges on the particle surfaces are balanced.
